Soroban Club

Soroban Video

I have been studying the Japanese Abacus for quite some time and had managed a successful Soroban Club at Hackberry Hill Elementary in Arvada. The reason I teach this is because it is one more thing in addition to music that I have a great passion for and would love to share.

The students will start out learning how to perform basic addition/subtraction calculations on the soroban. Classes later in the spring will have competitions.

The club will be held Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:00 at Normandy Elementary in the library. Permission slips can be found in the office or printable from the link below. The first 16 5th/6th graders who turn in the permission slip with $19 for their own soroban will be invited to the club.

This club is not a day care.
