            Happy Halloween! I am writing this letter to keep you informed about things that are going on soon in band/orchestra land.

Practice cards – For every month, there is a corresponding practice card. You can print them out from the downloads tab and they are due before the end of the month. For example, the November practice card will be due on November 30^th. It would be wise to check when your last class of the month will be to avoid turning in a late practice card.  

Playing tests – On the week of Nov 9, there will be playing tests for everyone. Here is what your child is expected to know:                   (All of this information is on the website as well.) You have a lot of time to prepare, please don’t wait until the last minute.

Beginning Band - #27 Good King Wenceslas

Beginning Orchestra – #43 Mozart Melody

Advanced Band - #99 Skill Builder

Advanced Orchestra – #124 G major study

Concerts – Our fall concerts are just around the corner! If your child is in beginning or advanced band, your concert is Wednesday, November 18^th. If your child is in beginning or advanced orchestra, your concert is Wednesday, November 11^th. Both concerts will be at Ken Caryl Middle School.

Band Concert schedule:

Drop off beginners at 6:15

Drop off advanced kids at 6:30

7:00 – Concert

 

Orchestra Concert schedule:

Drop off beginners at 6:45

Drop off advanced kids at 7:00

7:30 – Concert

__Music stand

__Band/Orchestra t-shirt (or black shirt if you don’t have one) and black pants or skirt.
