I can’t believe that we are almost to the end of the school year! I am writing this letter to keep you up to date on all the music happenings in May. The Advanced Band and Orchestra will be going on a tour on May 15^th to all of the elementary schools in the Columbine Area. Details on this trip will be on the permission slip that must be submitted in order for the child to go on the trip. The details below are for the end of the year concert.

Date/time: 

Band – Monday, May 5th 

Orchestra – Tuesday, May 6th

6:00 Beginning rehearsal

6:15 Advanced rehearsal

7:00 Concert

Please show up 15 minutes early to your rehearsal time so that we can tune your instruments. Most parents drop off their young musician just before their rehearsal time, and then arrive a few minutes before 7.

 

Where:

The event will be at Ken Caryl Middle school in the gym.

 

What to bring:

-Your instrument

-Your music and music stand

-Columbine Area Music shirt and black pants!

Homework: (Due before April 25^th)

-Write an invitation to an adult in your school. This person could be your favorite teacher from the past, a secretary, a custodian, or anyone else who works in the school. The letter must include the date, time, and location of the concert and be in paragraph format. Show it to me when you’re done so I can mark it in my grade book.
