Dear Band/Orchestra Parents:                                                                              

            I hope all of you had a wonderful winter break. Welcome to the New Year! The Columbine Area Festivals are coming up soon. An area festival is where all of the performing ensembles from the elementary level through the high school level get together to perform one massive concert. Please double check these dates because they have changed since the beginning of the year!!!

·         Orchestra area festival: Monday January 26^th in the Columbine High School gym. Be there at 6:30. The concert will start at 7:00.  

·         Band area festival: Monday February 2^nd in the Columbine High School gym. Be there at 6:30. The concert will start at 7:00. 

What to wear:

Boys – Same thing: Band shirt and black pants

Girls – Same thing: Band shirt and black skirt or pants.

Bring your music stand!

Announcements:

            Playing tests will be the week of Feb 9^th. Please check your practice card to see what your test is going to be. Practice cards are due Feb 12^th. If you turn in practice cards late, they will not reflect on report cards for that trimester.

            There will be a beginning band boot camp on Wednesday and Friday Feb 4^th and 6^th in the evening for those who are going to be starting in beginning band/orchestra. This would also be a good opportunity if you are in beginning band/orchestra and feel like you could use some extra help. Please contact me for more information.
